Schull Harbour Sailing Club Takes on Match Racing

This past weekend, SHSC members Daniel Copithorne, Lucy Copithorne, Killian Power, Aidan O'Reilly, and Clinton Copithorne represented the club at the Irish Match Racing Association qualifier hosted by Howth Yacht Club. With eight highly competitive teams in the running, our sailors held their own and finished joint 4th on pointsultimately placing 6th overall after tie-breaks. A fantastic result in what was a tough and tactical series of races! Match racing is a thrilling, head-to-head style of sailing that's new to many of our membersand SHSC is excited to be developing this discipline further. With our recently acquired Squibs, the club plans to introduce more training and racing opportunities this summer.
